ABOUT ME
I am a native Italian speaking translator originally from Matera (Italy).
I am strongly passionate about languages and especially about “living” a language and discovering how that language changes depending on where it is spoken; this is why I have also lived in Parma and Rome (Italy), Brecon (Wales), USA (for a short period of time), and Aberdeen (Scotland) - where I've attendend the University of Aberdeen and gained my MSc in Translation Studies.
During my studies I have had the chance to specialise more and more in Translation, but also to become very familiar with Editing and Proofreading, Translation Technology and Interpreting.
Because of my strong love for translation, I joined the translators communities TWB Kató, an open, non-profit platform for translators who want to help overcome the language barrier and spread texts throughout the world.
I greatly enjoy my job; I am detailed-oriented and a perfectionist, which is why I always strive to achieve the best possible result. My top priority is to make sure that my translations convey both the meaning and the effect of the source text, so that the message will get across effectively. The same happens with Editing and Proofreading – I carefully go through the text to spot any error and make sure that the text follows the style guide.
